A Place For Partners
This site is dedicated to men and women who are partners of someone diagnosed
with a severe mental illness. As the wife of a husband with bipolar disorder
(manic-depression), at times I have felt like a forgotten casualty of this disease.
After struggling on my own for years, I have discovered some coping
mechanisms that have made my life and my husband's life a lot better. I hope
that the information you find here will help you manage a little better too.
At Caregivers Corner we hope you will find help, support, and inspiration in our regularly
updated articles from caregivers. You will also find our Parent's & Children's Place to help you support your children.
These resources have been specially selected from all over the web to help you understand mental illness better, cope more effectively with your partner's
behavior, and ease the tension and stress that are part of living with a mentally ill partner.
Please note that this site does not offer professional or medical
advice, but contains the opinions and experiences of spouses or significant others,
struggling with the mental illness of their partner.
